Mao obtained a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry from Mississippi State University in 2002. She worked at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine for seven years until joining the laboratory. She applies both biochemical and genomic approaches to identify markers associated with asthma and allergy.

Shujie obtained her Master’s degree in Biology from McMaster University and another Master’s degree in Statistical Science from Indiana University. Shujie is involved in NGS data analysis, patient data integration and statistical analysis to support research projects in the the lab.
